Not much to say, but it does the job well.

In the US, it is impossible to find any old stock SOX-E lamps for sale. This is a great find for a new lamp! The 36w is a nice alternative for saving some energy while operating my 55w SOX fixtures. I've only hooked it up for testing so far but it works great. Glow Object is an excellent company! The lamps I ordered were packaged with great care and arrived in perfect condition. I look forward to ordering more lamps and ballasts from them soon!

First, some info that I wish was more clear on the website. The ballast markings say it is rated for 220-240v. I tested it on 120v and it works perfectly. Glow object said they are marked that way because their main market is the EU. The ballast is indeed wide range 120-240v compatible. Moving on, the reason I purchased this ballast was to replace the old advance ballast in my 135w Spaulding Palomar luminaire. The ballast was used with a 135w Osram lamp, I do not have a 180w lamp to test it on. This glow object ballast was in improvement over the old magnetic one in every way. The total weight of my luminaire was cut in half when I replaced the old ballast with this one. The lamp warms up faster, and uses far less energy. With the old magnetic ballast, the lamp was using about 175-180w after completely warming up. With the glow object ballast, the lamp was using about 127-132w after warming up! It should be noted that while warming up, the lamp does pull about 205w with this ballast. This is normal, and drops after a few minutes when the lamp is warmed up. Overall, this is an excellent ballast and I’ll likely purchase another in the future to have as a spare

This is a well made socket that is perfect for my SOX retrofit projects, so I bought a couple. These are hard to find anywhere else, especially brand new. Great deal for what you get. I will be purchasing more in the future!

I underestimated how bright these actually get, and was pretty impressed (it's probably a bit too bright to test indoors).

Ordered a 90W kit - includes lamp, ballast and socket. Ballast is easy to wire up. Designed for use on 120 volts, 60 Hz. Everything arrived intact and as someone who has a collection of rare and/or discontinued incandescent, HID and fluorescent lamps, I couldn't be happier with the SOX lamp. These lamps were a bit expensive, but these lamps are brand new and not second hand, so that's to be expected considering this is the only company in the world - to the best of my knowledge - that makes these lamps after Philips discontinued production in 2020. After all, except for in Europe where they were widely used for highway lighting for many decades, SOX lamps had very limited acceptance due to their monochromatic yellow light, where everything appears as a yellow-orange version of black and white. These are the only lamps suitable for the black fire illusion. I would have definitely purchased a few spare lamps to ensure I have enough to last me the rest of my life or in case it's accidentally dropped and broken, were it not for the premium price.

To sum it up, I highly recommend ordering from Glow Object for anyone who needs replacement SOX lamps. They seem high quality, only time will tell if these are as good of quality and last as long as the now discontinued ones from GE, Sylvania and Philips.

Love the light and the ballast is easy to set up, but would still be helpful if the ballast came with instructions. The video included on the website is okay, but is not very professional and not super clear on details.

I searched in the past for lps lamps, and i always came of with separate pieces from various places. Now, Glow Objects have them all in one place. The items I bought worked perfectly.

With LPS lamps being completely phased out in the US, it was great finding this bulb/ballast/socket bundle. I used it to convert a HPS street light to LPS, which uses a fraction of the electricity. It looks awesome and I measured a power draw of only 17W when the lamp was completely warmed up. The ballast voltage isn't specified in the listing but I am in the US and was correctly sent one rated for 120v. Can't wait to order a 35W bundle eventually when I find a good fixture to put it in.

I have used several 35W Glow Object ballasts to convert 250W MV Hubbell lamp fixtures to 35W SOX. The GO ballast removes so much weight and is extremely reliable.I am now converting an inverted 100W HPS fixture to 18W SOX also using the 18W GO bundle. Great stuff!

The 90W, like other Glow Object ballasts, works extremely well. I have had no issues with the ballast and I am very pleased with it overall. I have used 2 of them, so far, to replace iron ballasts. If there was one suggestion I would make, I wish the wire terminals were screw contact vs the simple push / insert type. I have had no issues with the current terminal type but prefer terminals where positive locking can be made by tightening a screw. Overall, this is a great product!
